Hotel function room customers are moving away from the simple presentational model of the last 20 years and towards the need for Guest mobile device connectivity and accessible content sharing/collaboration. The Smart Hospitality Technologies Showcase will provide a demonstration of an integrated Connectivity, Content and Collaboration solution (BYOD).
In addition, Hotel Guest Room Customers has increasing expectations in their experience at hotels – they will increasingly expect to be able to unlock doors, control thermostats, turn on TVs, turn off lights, and more from their mobile device. Even the ubiquitous alarm clock is increasingly obsolete, as most guests now use their smartphones for a wake-up call. Device-specific technology such as the iPhone dock is also much less desirable now with the combination of Bluetooth loudspeakers and the popularity of Android. Hence, the Smart Hospitality Technologies Showcase will provide examples of new solutions in Guest Room automation.
